DORIS TAYLOR (BUTLER)
Doris Taylor (Butler) received her early education in the public schools of Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California.
Ms. Taylor attended several Southern California institutions of higher learning including Los Angeles Southwest College, Pepperdine University, California State University at Dominguez Hills and Glendale University College of Law where she received AA, BA and BSL Degrees.
Additionally, she attended the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, and received extensive Fair Housing training from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
She spent many years in administration of family, political and business services enterprises.
Taylor served as Project Coordinator of the Tyler Branch of NAACP Legal Redress Clinic after she wrote the proposal for which the Clinic was awarded an Interest On Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Grant. Prior to that she served as Director of Northeast Texas Fair Housing Center.
In addition Ms. Taylor worked as a self-employed consultant to many East Texas non-profit organizations where she incorporated, amended charters, wrote proposals and attained IRS 501©(3) status.
Taylor is published in Glendale Law Review, Volume 1, Number 2, 1976. She has received many awards including the East Texas Legal Services Pro Bono Award in 1993. |
